prose poem 61
And you're thinking (or at least, I think you're thinking) sixty-one? What does this mean? Does the number sixty-one have some significance that I can't fathom? Or is it just the author's sixty-first poem in a prose form? I can tell you now that I've written a lot less, or maybe a few more. How can you tell? I put the words down on this bright white shining fake paper screen, and how can you tell whether I mean what I'm saying?
So, sixty-one. Que ce signife, soixante-et-un? Well, if you want something, I suppose I could tell you that on my Grandfather's sixty-first birthday he found himself suddenly a year older than he had been. Not a great event? Birthdays rarely are. What happened in 1961? Anything important? Maybe. I couldn't tell. I didn't research 1961 before writing this.
So maybe the sixty-one is superfluous. Maybe it's just there so that you think that the author is more profound than you are. To make you think you're missing something that others see clearly.
Ah, now we're getting somewhere...
